Vizcaya Museum and Garden
There is no better therapy other than going for a short period away from the hustle and bustle of the city and inhaling fresh air. In the Vizcaya Museum and Garden, you can feel you are turning back in time, witnessing the breathtakingly beautiful estates in the Italian Renaissance style while taking advantage of the serenity all in one place. The house was stood in the early 1900s by James Deering, who commissioned it as his primary winter residence. However, his family sold the mansion to the government, and it became a museum in 1953. When you explore the estate, you may discover plenty of old collections and antiques that Deering amassed throughout Europe as you tour the home.
The mansion has remnants of the royal families of Spain and Italy, such as rugs from Spain’s great-grandfather King Ferdinand and his Venetian relatives, parts of the ceilings from a Roman palace, and a massive dining table out of the ruins of Pompeii. You can enjoy the stunning views of the scenery outside the home, too. You can see the beautiful landscapes and outstanding views of the bay. You may also visit the Vizcaya Cafe for a filling meal while enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings. The Great Stone Barge, which rests within the house’s central courtyard, is a vessel adorned with carved woodwork, rope rigging, stone pillars, and wrought-iron fences. The barge had aesthetic appeal and protected tiny boats, and its primary role is to entertain guests. To the south of the estate, we find the magnificent Tea House, which has a whimsical appearance, as if it were from a fantasy tale.
Experience history and nature all in one place at Vizcaya Museum and Garden. It is at South Miami Avenue, in the north Coconut Grove area of Miami. Specifically, it sits at 3251 S Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33129, United States.
